The Heavy Group is a creative Management, Media and Production company focused on holistic and artistic partnerships with makers and visionaries in Music, Film, Tech and Philanthropy. Formed in 2016 by Jeremy Skaller and Jared Cotter, The Heavy Group’s main mission statement is to help uplift the artists of our times and push them forward for the global community to witness.
At the Heavy Group we believe that hard work trumps almost anything else and that our job is to find, encourage and empower the “next” great artists and thinkers that stand, just below the surface of Pop Culture and who are ready to inform and define it.
Greatness while certainly innate for some, must also be cultivated in a fear-free zone so that the combination of preparation and creative-genius can truly grow to it’s full potential.
Jeremy Skaller

As an Award-winning songwriter/producer, life-long entrepreneur, film producer, song publisher, and investor, Jeremy Skaller has seamlessly remained in tune with a roster of award-winning multi-platinum record-breaking superstars as co-founder of The Heavy Group. Embodying the company mantra of “Creators for creators,” he exhibits an unparalleled level of understanding and empathy, empowering clients to flourish at the highest level.
Upon co-founding Orange Factory Music, he linked up with burgeoning UK sensation Jay Sean who had recently reached unrivaled heights on YouTube with the UK’s most-viewed channel. Upon having Jay signed to a deal with Cash Money Records/Universal, the Orange Factory team made history with lead single “Down” in 2009. Not only did Jay Sean become “the first solo artist of South Asian origin and first UK urban act to top the Hot 100,” but the track also went six-times platinum in the United States alone. Other smashes followed such as the double-platinum “Do You Remember” [feat. Sean Paul & Lil Jon] and the gold-certified “2012 (It Ain’t The End)” [feat. Nicki Minaj].
To date, Jeremy’s musical success has spawned sales of over 75 million singles, ten #1 Billboard dance chart singles, and five consecutive Billboard hot 100, Top 40 singles. Most recently a song he published, "Needed Me" By Rihanna went 9x platinum! In 2016 Jeremy re-joined forces with longtime creative collaborator Jared Cotter to co-found The Heavy Group. Encompassing a record label, publishing company, management, charitable initiatives, and film and television production, together they developed and shepherded Bazzi into a multi-platinum presence. He also fostered Kiana Ledé’s evolution from a film and television star to an R&B chart-topper, cultivated production duo Rice N’ Peas [Bazzi, G-Eazyi, Kiana Ledé and more], and published such hit song-producers as Jamil Chammas (Normani & Khalid, “Love Lies”) and Khaled Rohaim (Kid Laroi, Rihanna,) . Most recently, Jeremy signed Singer-songwriter extraordinaire Ben Kessler. Outside of music, his impressive investment portfolio encompasses being one of the first investors in ClassPass as well as founding companies in Wellness and now AI.
Jared Cotter

Jared Cotter is a Grammy nominated songwriter and an Emmy nominated TV host. Combined he has sold more than 20 million songs, worked with the biggest artists in the world, stood as a long time host on the popular music network FUSE and A&R'd for both the legendary Epic and Atlantic Records. In 2015, Jared partnered with longtime creative collaborator, Jeremy Skaller to create The Heavy Group. Using his vast experiences as a host, artist, songwriter and A&R, Jared brings a unique perspective to managing his clients. Whether in a board room, recording studio, or on a stage, Jared flows seamlessly between them all.
